This amazing duplex studio is inspiring. Despite its small stature and cosy quarters its design is well thought out. It combines cooking, dining and lounging at the lower level. A tranquil haven that embraces you with a feeling of ease. The living and dining space is styled in a soothing grey palette featuring colourful art showcasing the heritage of this monumental building. Offering a dining table and fully equipped kitchen, you'll find everything you might need to prepare your meals: fridge, stove, oven, microwave, kettle and plenty of crockery and utensils. The living space is smartly separated from the raised sleeping isle, featuring a comfortable double bed, by a winding staircase. There's an industrial feel throughout, owing to the monumental origin of this renovated property, as well as the high 'lofty' ceiling and the sharp-lined shelves and furnishings. The bathroom, matches this style. Modern, fresh and efficient, featuring a single shower, sink, toilet and hairdryer. This duplex studio sleeps 2 adults. Tram number 10 stops around the corner and takes you directly to the famous Rijksmuseum, the Leidseplein and the popular Jordaan area. Services and amenities:

The Eastern Islands in Amsterdam were created around 1650. Partially reclaimed on the waters of the IJ and partially dug into the eastern meadows. Traditionally many shipyards and suppliers were founded here because of its convenient location to the IJ, but also dozens of surgeons and pharmacists had settled there. The Admiralty of Amsterdam took its place on Kattenburg and currently the Marine Establishment Amsterdam is still located here. Even the famous Dutch East India Company had its shipyards at Oostenburg. Nice fact: The Russian Tsar Peter the Great worked there for a few weeks. All in all a spatial and serene area with an extensive and rich heritage located at the border of the city center.
