The famous Red Light District with its vivacious nightlife is just a few streets away. Here, in the oldest part of the city and overlooked by the striking Old Church (Oude Kerk), the Red Light District attracts tourists from across the world. Also nearby is the city’s ‘China Town’. With an array of restaurants serving delicious Asian cuisine, it is also home to the Zeedijk Buddist Temple. The temple, with its distinctive colourful walls and traditional Chinese roof, is the largest one of its kind in Europe and is open daily to visitors.
