The one bedroom Old Harbour A Apartment is situated on the first floor and is located in the Oosterdok area close to the Central Station and is suited for 4 persons who want to enjoy Amsterdam.
This apartment has got style and it also has plenty of natural light thanks to the large windows. These windows also give you a view on the canal. The high classic ceilings and the wooden floors give a nice touch to this apartment.
The living area is spacious and has a comfortable sofa bed to sleep on or to sit on to watch the latest news on the flat screen television. The dining table has room for 4 persons. You can have a meal or a breakfast on this table or even use it as a working spot for your laptop. Wireless internet is available.
The open kitchen has an oven and a microwave to prepare a meal and the dish washer will clean the dishes. A coffee machine is in the kitchen for you to make a strong cup of coffee every morning. You will find coffee pads, milk and sugar in the cupboards.
The bedroom has a double bed. The bathroom also has a bathtub and a shower. So you can enjoy a long, warm bath when you are tired after walking in Amsterdam. In the hallway there is a separate toilet.
Your apartment is only about seven minutes walking distance away from the Central Station. The Oosterdok area is a developing area with modern buildings of great architecture value like the Amsterdam Library. You are also very close to the Maritime museum. In this museum you can see a replica of an 18th century merchant, sailing ship of the Dutch East Indies Company. Unfortunately this ship sank before it ever reached the Dutch East Indies or Indonesia as it is now called.
The Rembrandt House is also close to your apartment. The famous painter Rembrandt lived in this house from1639 till 1656. You can see paintings, etches, drawings and copper plates made by Rembrandt.
But Amsterdam does not only have museums but the nightlife of this tolerant and permissive city is great. There are many restaurants and cafes. The typical Bruine Kroeg or Brown café has an old fashioned atmosphere with candles and dimmed lights. Try an Amstel beer which is the local beer from Amsterdam. If you like jazz then you must visit Bimhuis, a club close to Central Station.
