The Noorderkerk Deluxe apartment is a one bedroom residence characterized by luxury and style. With room for four guests this short stay rental is ideal for small groups or families who want to visit the historical city of Amsterdam.
This beautiful apartment is situated in an authentic 17thcentury historical building and has three floors. The interior is a delicate mixture between the old and the new. Modern furniture and colors are situated under 400 year old wooden beams and the interior is bright because of the daylight pouring through the large traditional Dutch windows. The large living room has a cosy sitting corner with modern furniture where you can recover after a long walk in the city. Relax or retreat with a book and sit in front of one of the windows and take a peek outside to enjoy the view. The kitchen in this apartment is something else. Traditional in a way but colored with amazing blue colors this kitchen is equipped with whatever you need to make your breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is a stylish bathroom with a large shower and a comfortable bathtub. The bedroom is located in the attic. With sloped ceiling and lovely colors this room is the right spot for a romantic night. Do not miss the roof terrace where you can enjoy a late night glass of wine under the stars while overlooking the city.
- Please note that access to the apartment is via some steep stairs so it is not suitable for elderly or very young visitors.
- On the top floor you will find an open space, featuring traditional slanted ceilings with exposed beams, a double bed and another double bed in an alcove. Please note that there are no doors, therefore privacy is limited. The bathroom contains a bath, shower, washbasin and toilet.
The location of the apartment is wonderful to experience the city of Amsterdam. You will find yourself in the Jordaan, an area that was originally a labor class neighborhood but now one of the most expensive and popular areas of this city. It is characterized by its lovely small streets and typical houses. You will find all sorts of shops, boutiques, restaurants and bars and also there are weekly markets with the most amazing stuff you can find. The apartment is named after the beautiful 17th century Noorder Kerk, a protestant church. Behind the church you will find the Prinsengracht, part of the historical belt of canals running though the historical city centre. From here you can follow the canals by foot to make sure you don’t miss anything of this beautiful city. Visit the close by Anne Frank house and experience what it was like to hide for the Nazi occupation, walk to the Amsterdam historical Museum to learn more about the history of Amsterdam, or jump on one of the canal cruises not far away at the Central Station to see the city from a different perspective.
Positives: Excellent location in a lively neighborhood, within walking distance to the Centrum in Amsterdam. Overall clean apartment, the owner hired cleaning staff to do the work. The apartment looks a bit older and smaller than the picture depicted but it wasn't a huge problem for us. Bonus: I have to give the owner a big plus for letting us stay for another half day free of charge! Improvement: Steep and shadow staircase even for youngsters could be a challenge as two of us had bruises just walking up/down.. Only one bathroom and shower in the entire apartment, and the stall is positioned relatively higher than in the States. Also, there was mouse in the house, and one night our food was eaten. Owner does impose a 3% extra credit card charge for payment on premise (this is in addition to your typical foreign exchange charge) that was a bit disappointing. - JLJINXIU - Date: 23-06-2018
The apartment in the Jordaan was just perfect for us. The owner was extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us - she'd made a book with all the local information - where to eat, shop etc - that was in the apartment when we arrived. The apartment was extremely comfortable and a lovely place to return to after a busy day's sight-seeing!Jane - Date: 10-02-2014

The location of the apartment is great. However it is a bit noisy at night because there are 3 Pubs right next to the apartment. A big supermarket is about 400m away.Margit - Date: 17-05-2012

Short Stay Apartments provide the perfect accommodation solution when travelling with children. It was wonderful to have the space of an apartment instead of being crammed into a hotel room.Jane - Date: 24-04-2012
