The district of Jordaan is known to be one of the most interesting neighborhoods of Amsterdam, famous for its casual, laid-back atmosphere, bohemian charm, intriguing architecture and – of course – the abundance of fantastic eating establishments (Rainarai, Amigo, Nomads), cafés (Rooie Nelis, Struik, Paradox), coffee shops, boutiques, galleries and other notable attractions lining the picturesque alleys gridding the astonishing Canal Belt.
Speaking of notable attractions, you should definitely visit the nearby Anne Frank House – a museum of great historical significance, featuring the content of the diaries by one of the most famous Jewish victims of the Holocaust; the place oozes with history and a veil of mystery – absolutely recommended. Right next to it there’s a beautiful architectonic landmark – the Westerkerk, seen already from afar. Apart from that, if you head a bit to the south along the scenic bank of Prinsengracht you’ll get to a very interesting Houseboat Museum – we hope it inspires you to rent a pedal boat to admire the city from a bit different perspective.
Moreover, it’s only a matter of a short stroll to the east to find yourself in the very center of the city – follow the street of Rozengracht and in a couple of minutes you’re bound to see the majestic Dam Square marking the border of the heart of Amsterdam, full of many diverse attractions.
