There are free boat services running very regularly between Amsterdam North and central station which is for on-foot or on- bike passengers only, and mopeds too but definitely no vehicles. The area is not serviced by trams but is by buses. If you plan on doing many outings to the city centre then it may be handy to rent a bike for the duration of your stay as the total journey into the city centre will be just over ten minutes. Amsterdam is a bike friendly city with designated bike lanes and traffic lights on the main roads. Amsterdam North is home to the EYE Film Institute which you can reach in less than ten minutes via bus 38, or opt to walk there in just over fifteen minutes. Near the apartment is a park called Florapark where you can take a swimming costume in good weather and swim at the Floraparkbad. In this area you will find a lot of old Amsterdam houses that give it a positive village feel.
