This choice 2-bedroom Amsterdam city apartment boasts delightful interior design and a fantastic central location suitable for up to 4 guests visiting for business or for pleasure.
Colourful, eclectic and filled and with character, this apartment absolutely exudes comfort. Large windows allow lots of natural light whilst the sleek wooden floorboards and attractive antique furniture add a real touch of class to the proceedings. Kick off your shoes and make yourselves comfortable in this exceptional living space. A flat screen TV is also provided here to keep everyone entertained. It’s very likely this city will exhaust you some days so rest those tired legs in style!
Through the huge arched doorway you will find a fantastic fitted kitchen packed with all the equipment you need to create something delicious for your guests. Prepare favourite recipes from home or why not try a little Dutch cuisine with local ingredients from the nearby convenience stores and supermarkets? An elegant wooden dining table and chairs enable you to enjoy mealtimes together in comfort.
Up the elegant staircase the prettily decorated private bedrooms incorporate simple restful earth tones making them a perfect haven for sleep during your stay in the city. There are two single beds in each which can be pushed together to create comfortable doubles. The apartment also features two private bathrooms fitted with toilets, showers and sinks.
The apartment can be found located in the eastern segment of the city centre, a particularly pretty district on the edge of the Dapperbuurt and the famous leafy Plantage neighbourhood. Be sure to explore both areas at your leisure. You will find cultural stimulation at the excellent Tropenmuseum which presents a wealth of non-western sourced artworks, photography and music. Meanwhile shopaholics looking for a bargain will particularly enjoy the delightful Dappermarkt which was recently voted as one of the top ten street markets in the world by the National Geographic Traveller Magazine publication. The Dapperbuurt is also the birthplace of the particularly popular colourful Dutch artist Karel Appel.
The general pace of the area is extremely laid back and you can enjoy a picnic close by at the delightful Oosterpark if you wish. It boasts a large central lake and is very popular with local Amsterdammers throughout the year and certainly less crowded than the mammoth and better known Vondelpark. Look out for the several important sculptural monuments scattered around the park including the National Slavery Monument which was erected to commemorate the abolition of slavery in the Netherlands.
Take your pick form a huge collection of delicious restaurants and cafes in the area if you don’t feel like preparing food in the apartment yourself.
Head west along the pretty Plantage Middenlaan on foot or by tram. You will pass the exit to the city’s famous Zoo, Artis. It is in fact one of the oldest zoos in the world and features an impressive 19th century aquarium building certainly worth exploring upon your visit.
